Chinese Consulate-General Supports CARIFTA 2017

WILLEMSTAD – The preparations for the CARIFTA Games are progressing steadily. Different local companies together with the Government of Curaçao already confirmed their financial support. The Chinese  Consulate-General also ratified their financial sponsorship. The Consulate-General will cover all costs related to the importation of Track & Field materials from China.

This agreement has been ratified on Thursday 8 September with the signing of the agreement. The board members of the Local Organizing Committee were present together with Consul Zhang Huixun and Consul Pei Yajuan.

In the period 15-17 April 2017 more than 600 athletes from more than 25 Caribbean islands will visit Curaçao for the CARIFTA games. The Curaçao Track & Field Association founded the Local Organizing Committee in October 2015 for the organization of this sports event. The focus of the Track & Field Organization is since a couple of months already on the professional preparation of their athletes in order to get good results at the Carifta Games.
