At night of the Chinese Spring Festival, Chinese Consulate-General CG ZHANG WEIXIN has made a speech as follow:

Excellencies, Dear Chinese, ladies and gentlemen, good evening.

Today is Chinese New Year’s day—Spring Festival. I am very glad to be invited to attend the celebration event by Curacao Chinese Business Association.  I would like to extend my great greeting to Chinese and you all present. Happy Chinese New Year!

Over past year, China-Curacao relationship maintains a stable growth, having a larger exchange scale and a deeper cooperation. The Chinese cultural group and the Guangdong TV Station came to Curacao for visit. The exchanges of enterprises, schools and media also increase. These fundamentally promote the mutual understanding and friendship of two   ries.

Overseas Chinese are industrious, thrifty and emphasize family education. Chinese here make positive contribution to the local social and economic development as well as develop their own careers. You care about motherland and hometown undertakings and stimulate the friendly exchange between two sides. You have a strong responsibility that when St. Maarten confronted with hurricanes, you immediately donate money and items to help and support. I am proud of you and would like to thank you with my high respect. and making our unremitting efforts with you to develop friendly relations between China and Dutch Caribbean.

This evening, I am delighted to have the presence of the local distinguished guests. I see this as a manifestation of Curacao people goodwill towards Chinese people. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to Curacao government, political parties and friends for your long-time care, help and support to Chinese people.

At last, I wish everyone happy Spring Festival and everything goes well with you. wish China and Curacao prosperity at the year of the dog.
